Chicken Shawarma Pita Sandwich

Serves: 4
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 15 minutes

Ingredients:
• 1 pound skinless,
boneless chicken legs
• 4 whole wheat pita bread
Dressing:
Tahini sauce
Shawarma marinade:
• 1/3 cup olive oil
• 2 gloves garlic, minced
• Juice from 1 lemon
• 1 tablespoon turmeric
• 1 tablespoon ground coriander
• 1 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
• Pinch sea salt
• Pinch black pepper

Directions:
1. Slice the chicken into thin strips.
2. In a medium bowl, combine the oil, garlic, lemon juice and spices and whisk. Add the
chicken strips.
3. Heat a non stick frying pan on medium-high heat, spray with Pam, and sauté spiced
chicken strips for 7 minutes per side. ( total of 14 minutes
4. Remove from pan
To assemble the shawarma in the pita:
1. Warm the pita bread, spread with hummus, stuffed with shawarma, Israeli
salad, and drizzle tahini sauce on top.
