Morning times in our home are usually very busy. From the moment that I wake up, it’s a non-stop flow of busyness– whether it’s barely making it out the door to take my daughter to school, having an early training session with a client, or even attempting to squeeze in my own workout and doing personal business–as much as I’d love to spend every bit of my mornings simmering steel cut oatmeal, or preparing egg white omelettes with spinach, onions, and sliced mushrooms, on most weekday mornings I have 5-7 minutes max for my nutritious breakfast.
My regular schedule looks a lot like this: I get up at 5:00 am, drink my black coffee or lemon-goji detox drink, meditate for 20 minutes, get my daughter ready for school, prepare her breakfast and lunch, feed our dog, and than prepare my own breakfast. Not much time for a breather.
To make sure that I start the day off right, nutritionally speaking, I prep my smoothie ingredients the night before, and in the morning, all I have to do is simply blend it up for 2 minutes.

Sima’s Favorite 5 Minute Breakfast Smoothie: A Smoothie For Those Busy Mornings
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 0 minutes
Bunch of spinach
bunch of kale
1/4 cup of frozen blueberries
1 1/2 cup of coconut water (or water)
1 Tbsp of flax seeds
1 Tbsp of wheat germ
1 teaspoon of bee pollen
1 Tbs walnuts
1 Tbs raw cacao powder
1 Tbsp of goji berries (optional: sometimes I use them, sometimes I don’t; depending on my mood)
1. Add all of the ingredients to your high speed blender or Vitamix
2. Blend for 2 to 3 minutes, and then pour into a glass. Enjoy the intoxicating burst of delectable flavors exploding in your pallet.
